The FPA is pleased to support the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) […]
Employer Networks is an initiative set up and funded by CITB and aims to simplify the way the construction industry receives support and funding to access the training. The initiative also aims to bring together employers at a local level to inform CITB on training needs, advise how funding should be prioritised and allocated, and to effectively use training provision to address immediate and future needs in their region.
Referring to the initiative, CITB Chief Executive Tim Balcon said: “I’m really excited about Employer Networks – this is about putting employers in the driving seat to identify and address their skills challenges and how best CITB can align our funding and resources to support their skills needs. I would encourage employers in the Network areas to get involved and use their voice to shape training provision.”
The following FPA courses can now be funded through the CITB Employer Network:
Emphasising the importance of supporting the CITB’s Employer Network scheme, FPA Head of Training Kelly Donoghue said: “The Employer Network is free to join for levy-registered employers. The FPA is delighted to support this initiative which acts as a gateway to maximise and positively impact the reach of accessible training offered to individuals in the construction industry.
“Encouragingly, there are no limitations to the type of learning style that can be accessed – classroom based, online or e-learning courses are all accepted. With the legislative requirements in fire safety, this is an opportunity for companies to capitalise and obtain FPA training at reduced cost to the employer.”
To benefit from Employer Networks, applicants need to be registered with CITB, have an up-to-date levy, and have an Employer Network in their area. Employer Networks is free to join, and each region has a budget to spend on training and can decide how funds are used for the greatest benefit, with up to 70% of the course funded by the network.
