On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in the National Museum of Modern Art, the first meeting of the new event series by the Hellenic Institute for Fire Protection of Structures (ELIPYKA)—titled “ELIPYKA TALKS , took place, drawing significant participation from representatives, engineers, and construction industry professionals.
The main subject of that meeting was the presentation of ELIPYKA’s Technical Guide on Fire-Resistant Doors, which is the first of the Institute’s series of technical guides for different construction products and systems.
The Guide aims to assist industry professionals engaged to the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of fire-resistant doors by bridging regulatory requirements and European standards with technical documentation and on-site implementation.
The presentation particularly highlighted the need to treat the fire-resistant door as an integrated system. Issues were addressed regarding testing and certification, the scope of results, and the documentation of conformity, as well as the proper installation, management, and support of the final product.
