The existing CFPA Europe guideline No 02/ S has just recently been revised. The Guideline will be helpful to individuals or organisations who own or are responsible for buildings that are no longer occupied. Unoccupied buildings are increasingly targets for criminals and are susceptible to theft, vandalism or even arson. The guideline looks at the increased vulnerability of vacant or empty buildings and the risks that the emergency services and others have when entering a vacant, vandalised building. It analyses the shutdown procedures, how the building should be looked after while empty, and guidance on the reoccupation after a vacant period. This revision incorporates also the older guideline no. 3 /S that is now incorporated in the updated guidelines no. 2:2025 S.
