Managing Director Jonathan O’Neill died on Monday night after many years fighting illness. He became Managing Director of the FPA in UK 24 years ago and he was working until his last day.
Jonathan has been a well-known and influential person in the field of fire prevention and protection, both nationally and internatonally. From his first working day at the FPA he has been involved in the work of CFPA Europe, and on many occasions he has given interesting talks at our gatherings. Jonathan’s contribution in his field was recognised in UK with the most Excellent Order of the British Empire (the OBE) in 2017.
He was always active, and his passing is a significant loss for the fire industry, both in the UK and internationally. Born in 1963, he should have been able to look forward to many successful years to come, but his prolonged illness eventually prevented this.
Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this difficult time.
