The FPA has been announced as a finalist at the London Construction Awards 2024 for its RISC 501 external cladding test method.
A finalist in the Fire Safety Solution of the Year category, the shortlisting recognises the FPA’s work on creating and developing a new fire test and assessment method for external cladding systems.
In particular, RISC 501: Fire Test and Assessment Method for External Cladding Systems addresses the limitations of current UK testing criteria for combustible cladding systems in high-rise buildings. By evaluating the fire performance of non-loadbearing external cladding systems, RISC 501 goes beyond the basic life safety standards to ensure resilient systems that can effectively prevent vertical spread.
