Dr. Hubert J. Rüegg was the director of the Swiss Institute for the promotion of Safety and Security when he was elected Chairman of CFPA Europe in Helsinki 2002. In 2005 he was elected to the board of directors in CFPA International.
Hubert Rüegg started implementing structures in both organizations, a benefit and foundation until today and the time to come. He supported the work in the commissions, he was convinced that this work is the most important value of our associations. Whenever he could he pointed out the enormous value of collaboration throughout Europe. His work in CFPA ended in 2012.
He reached the age of retirement in June and was full of ideas for the time to come. Early in the morning of August 22, a sudden heart attack stopped all his plans much too early.
Our thoughts are with his family, we wish them a lot of strength in that challenging time. We will keep Hubert in best memory.
