The session will explore the main principles outlined in the Security Guidelines for Museums, Depots and Exhibition Venues, a publication developed by German insurers with a focus on loss prevention. It will address practical approaches to security planning, risk reduction, and the implementation of effective protection measures in cultural heritage environments.

·Speaker: Mr. Paulus Vorderwülbecke

Graduate Engineer (Mechanical Engineering), Paulus Vorderwülbecke has been working with VdS since 1995, specialising in physical security, the development of guidelines and security requirements, and collaboration with technical experts at national and international level.

Since 2008, he has been Head of Department “Concept Development/Security” and has held several leadership positions within VdS, including Head of Department “STGeo (GeoVeris and ZÜRS)/Security & Geo” since 2024 and Head of Department “Product Development/Security & Geo” since 2025.
