On May 12, the General Assembly of CFPA Europe took place in Milan, hosted by AIAS (Associazione Italiana Ambiente e Sicurezza). The Assembly was preceded by the International Conference Fire Safety: Comparison Italy – Europe, which brought together speakers from several organizations linked to fire safety in Milan, including the Fire Brigade, CIAM, OIM, Latina’s Fire Brigade, and the Italian Fire Rescue Service.
A significant highlight of the conference was the active participation of experts and representatives from member associations of CFPA Europe. Delegates from the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic contributed with presentations on The Grenfell Tower Fire and Digital Bridge from CFPA – E to Business Resilience.
The conference addressed a wide range of key topics in fire safety, such as Fire Safety Design of Building Envelopes, Problems and Opportunities of High-Rise Buildings, The Grenfell Tower Fire, and Fire Safety Ventilation in Metropolitana Milanese, among others.
The participation of CFPA Europe members reinforced the organization’s role as a leading European network dedicated to promoting cooperation, technical excellence, and the exchange of best practices in the fields of fire safety, security, and natural hazard protection. Through the involvement of its national associations, CFPA Europe continues to support the harmonization of safety standards and professional training throughout Europe.
During the General Assembly, participants discussed several issues related to the work of the Commissions, international relations, and recent developments within the member associations. These organizations continue to work actively to improve fire safety, security, and resilience against natural hazards across Europe.
The event also served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration and partnerships among the 23 associations that make up CFPA Europe.
