Certified bonus for operational safety: Minimax’s AIT system can automate many of the technical checks required regularly for water fire extinguishing systems.
Cologne/Germany, March 3 rd 2026. The lifesaving automatic extinguishing systems can only function reliably when regularly maintained and monitored. For continuous surveillance, Minimax has developed a testing system consisting of on-site controller, gateway and cloud which can be integrated directly into existing sprinkler technology. The prime reliability of this invention has now been verified with VdS-Approval.
“We are delighted that the effectiveness and reliability of our `Automatic Inspection and Testing System´ is clearly proven by VdS”, emphasizes Jan Witte, Director of Product Compliance at Minimax Viking Products Group GmbH. “AITS precisely monitors, tests and documents safety-related functions. Even the required weekly alarm tests, pump starts and leak tests are now carried out by our systems all by themselves.”
“Congratulations to the Minimax team on their VdS-Approval for this impressive innovation”, states Gunnar Bellingen, Head of the VdS Fire Protection Laboratories. “The assurance and automation provided by the AIT system is a major advantage, especially in view of the striking shortage of specialists in the technical field – it significantly reduces the workload for experts responsible.”
VdS-certification also covers the security of data transmission to the cloud. Information on the Approval of innovations for which no standards yet exist can be found at www.vds.de/innovations .
